Stay neutral

I refer to the South China Morning Post's interview with Sir Ti Liang Yang (October 8).

It is clear, that Sir Ti Liang is not a politician seeking popular votes. The question is, do we need a popularly elected politician in the transition, or someone trustworthy, impartial, capable of making and sticking to careful decisions? Being neutral certainly will be the best advantage for Sir Ti Liang, as there will be sufficient advice from experts as well as from opinion polls to help him to decide what is best for the people of Hong Kong in the future.
