Han finds himself in good company

Hong Kong-based Kyi Hla Han has been handed a dream draw for today's Johnnie Walker Classic - he will play with world number one Tiger Woods. Han heard that he was teamed with Woods and defending champion Michael Campbell after flying in from Spain, where he played in the American Express World Golf Championship, and it lifted his spirits after a disappointing outing.

'It will be fun and an honour to play with Woods,' said Han, Asia's number one last season. 'I was a bit surprised to see the draw - I suppose this is another reward for winning the Davidoff Tour Order of Merit last year.

'Really, I am thrilled at the prospect. I know his [Woods'] caddy Steve Williams quite well - he was about when I was playing on the Australasian and Asian Tours. Hopefully that will relax me a bit. I will just watch him [Woods] play and maybe learn something from him.'

Han is hoping that he will be fully recovered from a bout of sickness which hit him on Sunday. 'I got sick along with a few other players,' said Han. 'I have been to see a doctor here in Bangkok and he said it was a stomach virus. I am feeling a bit weak but should be OK - playing with Woods is a big date to keep.'

Han, 39, will be eager to shine in the match-up against Woods and Campbell following last week's disappointing outing when he shot rounds of 75, 74, 77 and 77. 'I played badly for the first two rounds in Spain - things just did not click,' said Han, who had been swinging well during three practice rounds. 'After the first two days it was a case of playing catch up and I had a few bad holes.

'It was a bit disappointing as my preparation had been really good. I played well at the Lexus International in Bangkok and had been working with my coach Sam Frost. But this week gives me another chance to shine in elite company - it will be pretty exciting.'
