Rapist gets 13 years for 1988 attack on teenager

A rapist described by a judge as being 'without humanity' was jailed for 13 years for his part in a gang rape more than 12 years ago. Au Yang-bo, 28, was sentenced at the Court of First Instance after unanimously being found guilty of five counts of rape by a jury of seven on Thursday.

He and two other men took turns to rape a 17-year-old girl six times in one night on December 22, 1988. The men were treated as equally guilty for each attack, although Au was acquitted of one rape charge. The two co-defendants were arrested the day after the attack and have served their jail terms, one of nine years and one of 10.
