Students find wealth of information on IT industry

I talked to six students from TWGHs Wong Fut Nam College. Team leader Joseph Lai Hiu-fung, 16, who aspires to be an animation engineer, said 'The trip provided me with the keys to achieve my goals.'

Basil Cheung Sik-chi, 16, said: 'I have learned that the IT world is a real world where you have to cope with different kinds of people. To survive, you have to trust yourself.'

Penny Ng Man-tung, 15, said the wide range of technology companies that they visited gave him a 'comprehensive understanding of the industry'.

Silvester Ma Chi-yat, 16, was impressed by the laser show at Disneyland. 'I was amazed by the state-of-the-art technology.'

Jackie Lee Chi-wah, 15, found the trip inspiring. 'I have learned a lot.' Elaine Ho Yik-ling, 16, said the IT professionals were passionate and enthusiastic.

I also talked to four university undergraduate winners of the open category.

Team leader David Lee Keng-fai, 19, of the University of Hong Kong (HKU), said: 'The trip has enriched my business and Web site design knowledge.' Bryan Li King-bong, 19, also from HKU, said he gained a better understanding of e-business and Web design.

Ken Wong Kin-cheung, 19, of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), said: 'I have learned that Web site design is closely linked to business and society.'

Tony Sung On-loy, 19, also from CUHK, liked the 'cosy work environment' of the IT professionals.
