Man sprays security van with fire extinguisher

A Nepali man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he climbed into an armoured security van and sprayed the interior with a fire extinguisher. Police were called to Temple Street, Yau Ma Tei, after the 33-year-old jumped into the Securicor van, which contained no money. Because of his mental state, the man is in custody at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Cigarette fires put three in hospital

A 62-year-old man smoking in bed in a flat in Ming Kum Road, Tuen Mun, suffered burns to his left arm when his quilt caught fire. He was in stable condition in Tuen Mun Hospital last night. In Tsuen Wan, two men aged 21 and 25 suffered smoke inhalation when a cigarette butt set a sofa on fire at a flat in Belvedere Garden, Castle Peak Road. They were in stable condition at Yan Chai Hospital.

Youth injured by car

A 12-year-old boy was knocked down by a car on Tai Hang Sai Street in Shekkipmei about 1pm. He was in satisfactory condition in Caritas Medical Centre last night.

One ticket holder won the first prize of $5 million in last night's draw. The numbers were 2, 3, 8, 19, 25 and 39. The extra number was 49. The second prize paid $461,795.
