Promotions for five barristers

Chief Justice Andrew Li Kwok-nang yesterday made five barristers senior counsels. The promotion will take effect on May 15.

These are Horace Wong Yuk-lun, Eric Kwok Tung-ming, Peter Ng Kar-fai, Anderson Chow Ka-ming and Peter Norman Duncan.

A member of the disciplinary panel of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants since 2002, Mr Wong, 43, specialises in commercial law, property law, probate and general civil cases.

Mr Kwok, 44, is a specialist in criminal law and a member of the Incorporated Duty Lawyer Services. He served on the Legal Aid Review Board two years ago.

Mr Ng, 41, practises predominantly in company law, commercial law and general civil matters. He is a member of the Barristers Disciplinary Tribunal Panel.

Mr Chow, 39, is a civil law expert. He currently chairs the Appeal Tribunal (Buildings). He is an expert in commercial law, constitutional laws and defamation.

Mr Duncan, aged 57, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He specialises mainly in insider dealing, commercial law and arbitration.
