Super's market

Tim Lim

Singaporean snapper Leslie Kee, long a favourite of local stars, is upping the style stakes with his new, biannual magazine Super ($220). The vanity publication - you'd be hard pressed to find a greater con-centration of prettier boys and girls - has hit the stands with models Heidi Klum and Werner Schreyer on the covers, and a bevy of beauties between. Themed 'icon', the debut issue boasts portfolios of Asian luminaries Gong Li, Maggie Cheung Man-yuk and Nicholas Tse Ting-fung, a profile of Kill Bill's Quentin Tarantino and contributions from prolific photographers including Hong Kong's Wing Shya and Japanese artist Nobuyoshi Araki. 'I wanted to create something that was between a coffee-table book and a magazine,' explains Kee, 'something that showed my love for fashion and design and that you would never want to throw away.'
