Should students wear school uniforms?

Uniforms are a good idea. There are enough tests and homework, so I wouldn't want to worry about what I should wear to school every day. It would be a waste

of time.

Moreover, if students do not need to wear uniforms, they would be tempted to show off the latest fashion accessories.

This could lead to friction in the classroom, with students from poor families feeling jealous about their privileged classmates. Their self-esteem could also suffer.

Some students might even save their lunch money to buy clothes. How would they have the energy to learn?

All these circumstances would create an unhealthy study atmosphere.

Uniforms give students a sense of equality, which is crucial for a harmonious environment.

Uniforms would also help create a sense of belonging to the school and build up team spirit and co-operation among students. This could also ease the pressure faced by teachers, who will find it easier to work with their students.

The benefits of school uniforms far outweigh the drawbacks. Students should continue to wear them.

School uniforms are an elitist 'hangover' from Hong Kong's colonial era.

They are no longer relevant under the present circumstances.

I have to wear a sweater or a jacket even on a warm winter day, regardless of how hot and uncomfortable I am.

I have no choice, even if it means sweating all day.

How could individual rights and freedoms be ignored in an open, democratic society like Hong Kong?

Choosing how we dress is one of the most basic forms of self-expression.

Uniforms do not make a school look better. Schools should be proud because of the students' achievements, not because of the enforcement of a dress code.

Uniforms do not promote friendship among pupils either.

We make friends not because they wear uniforms, but because of the qualities they possess.

Uniforms are a source of income for schools. I don't think schools should impose their will on students just to make profits.

North America has not broken down in chaos because students are not wearing uniforms, and neither will we.
