Wild idea for television
For those of you sick of the urban jungle, here's your chance to run with rhinos or cuddle crocodiles. Animal Planet and WWF are looking for local participants for a new eco-reality series. The series will feature seven participants, cast from around the world, to take on a variety of WWF conservation challenges in Central America and Asia.
According to Animal Planet, an example of a challenge may be: how would you save the river dolphins? One solution is to arrange a public rally to raise awareness of the effect that pollution has on these animals.
Physical sub-challenges for this task can include building a dike or planting trees to stop erosion of the river banks. WWF experts will guide participants as they learn about the realities of conservation while dealing with extreme conditions, unfamiliar cultures, tight deadlines and the pressures of protecting wildlife.
The six-part, one-hour series will be broadcast worldwide on Animal Planet next year. Sounds a bit like Tarzan in The Amazing Race ...
