Jardine Summit

{View from the top}

BUILDING Jardine Summit

is a new 26-storey single tower development in one of the most exclusive residential districts in Hong Kong, with shimmering views of Causeway Bay, Happy Valley, Central and Kowloon. This is a relatively small-scale boutique development with only 48 units, two units per floor. There are two types of units and the clubhouse is on the first floor. Ivan Mok from Savills (Hong Kong) said the supply of new high-end residential units in the Jardine's Lookout vicinity was limited, and would continue to be, especially in the next two to three years. As a result, Jardine Summit had received a positive response from homebuyers and investors since its launch last March.

DESIGN Simon Kwan & Associates, the joint developer of the project, carried out all the design work. The forecourt is the main design feature. It has a fountain that is lit up at night to create a dramatic hotel-like entrance. The lobby features a chandelier with about 20,000 cut-glass crystal beads to give a sense of elegance.

LAYOUT The units are on the sides of the building with the lifts in-between. Each is about 1,250 sqft and features combined living and dining areas in an efficient rectangular shape. Each flat has a 37 sqft balcony offering views of Causeway Bay and the harbour. Large windows on each side of the living and dining areas enable cross-ventilation. The master bedroom of unit B has an extra triangular space with large corner windows to enjoy the views.

FACILITIES It is rare to have such a comprehensive clubhouse in this type of development. Clubhouse facilities include a gym, spa, karaoke room, committee/meeting room and a lavishly decorated banquet hall that can accommodate three large dining tables - with a private kitchen.

LOCATION Jardine's Lookout overlooks Victoria Harbour and behind it are wooded hills. Jardine's Lookout has a supermarket, delicatessen, florist, post office and some small grocery/provision shops. French and Japanese international schools are nearby, as is the Canadian International School. Jardine's Lookout is only a 10-minute drive to Central and five minutes to Causeway Bay.
