1. All-nighter: Something that lasts all night. In this case it means that the student was up all night doing homework on the computer.

Example: I had an all-nighter sewing my dress for the party. (I was up all night)

2. Couch potato: A person who spends too much time on a couch (usually watching television). Sometimes used as a derogatory term by parents about their children.

Example: You are turning into couch potato! Can you please clean your room.

3. Pig out: To overeat, overindulge; make a 'pig of oneself' or 'pigging out'.

Example: I love to pig out on chocolate!

Discussion

Sometimes students do all-night stints when studying for exams or doing homework. To avoid this, you could try and organise your time more efficiently (use a diary or a journal). Remember you do have to catch up on that sleep you missed. Too many all-nighters can lead to depression and sickness.

Being a couch potato occasionally is a good thing. It is a good way to relieve stress and relax your brain and body. Pigging out on occasions is also fun. But don't do it too often.
