Ice hockey enthusiasts get to chill out at a cool new venue

It might have been muggy and humid all weekend, but at the MegaBox mall, fans and friends bundled up to catch the action at the fifth annual International Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament.

Organised and hosted by the Hong Kong Amateur Hockey Club, its chairman - and prime benefactor - is Thomas Jefferson Wu, heir to the Hopewell empire (left with mascot and guest Kate Tsui Tsz-shan), whose love of ice hockey is well known.

However, this is the first year the tournament and its subsequent summer league will play in the newly opened Kowloon Bay mall, which is certainly a step up from Sham Shui Po's Dragon Centre.

Anyway, for those keeping score, the final was between the Beijing Hosa hockey team and the Canada Delta Police. In something of an upset, the Canadians took it on the chin and lost 3 to 1.
