Hats off to red-hot tipster Aitken

Murray Bell

Alan Aitken's run of tipping success shows no sign of abating. The South China Morning Post's Racing guide chief writer found six of the 10 winners on Sunday at Sha Tin and was only a nose off making it seven, had Real Special managed to last in race five.

However, Real Special was touched off in the final stride by Paul Lo Pak-hin on Mythic Steed, but the result was of relatively little concern to Aitken's followers who undoubtedly had the $147quinella as Mythic Steed was the tipster's second selection.

Once again, Aitken's front-page special arrived, with Bullish Cash ($54) defeating stablemate Luckyme in the Class One Cuckoo Handicap.

That made it three of the last four front-page specials, following on from Nirvana on December 12 and Island Super at Sha Tin on December 15.

Aitken's other winners on the programme were Celestial Wonder ($38.50), Sight Winner ($24), Fantastic Guy ($39), Presto ($31.50) and Double Luck ($19.50), one of the dead-heaters in race nine.

Aitken is also cutting a swathe through his rivals on the best bets (naps) polling. Presto was his 16th best bet to arrive this season, with form analyst John Bell next best with nine.

Aitken's six-winner haul takes him to 69 winners for the season, well clear of all rivals, although Shiham Ramiz still tops the straight-bets poll for profitability.

The most successful tipsters are yours to follow each and every raceday in the Racing guide.
