Bureau website to keep tabs on associate degree graduates

The latest information on how associate degree graduates are doing will be highlighted this year on the ipass (Information Portal for Accredited Self-financing Sub-degree Programmes) website, www.ipass.gov.hk, the Education Bureau says.

For the first time, facts and figures on the number of associate degree graduates, continuing with their university education or joining the workforce, will be uploaded.

The bureau said it hoped the information would increase transparency of these course operations and help FormSeven school-leavers, wishing to study sub-degree courses, to make better decisions.

Ipass was introduced a year ago with the aim of giving wider exposure of sub-degree programmes to the public.

All accredited programmes are listed on the website with course descriptions, and details on entry requirements, school fees and internships. Background and operation information of each college and institute can also be found. The bureau will continue to improve the website in order to provide as much useful and updated information as possible. So far, the website has received 240,000 hits.
