No health risk for adults, CCTV reports

A 60kg adult who drinks less than 2 litres of contaminated milk a day will not suffer any health risk, state television reported last night, citing health authorities from the mainland and overseas.

However it did not say if it would make a difference over a long period.

The latest check by the General Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine found traces of melamine in milk from three dairies, Mengniu, Yili and Guangmin. In line with previous reports, which stressed the safety of the majority of milk, CCTV said 'so far no case of developing kidney stones by consuming the aforementioned brands has been discovered [in adults]'.
