Bus driver jailed for sex assault

A bus driver was jailed in the District Court for three years and nine months yesterday after being convicted of molesting a 10-year-old girl in 1998. So Wah, 44, denied assaulting the girl when her mother, with whom he was having an affair, left her and her sister at his home in Ma On Shan to go shopping. The case came to light when the younger sister broke her silence shortly before she died from leukaemia.

Chicken-cage cleaners seek cash

About a dozen former chicken-cage cleaners from the Cheung Sha Wan wholesale market met Agriculture Department officials over the loss of their jobs due to poultry import cuts. They demanded to be allowed to apply for a HK$35,000 allowance for workers affected by the buyout of chicken-stall licences, for which only stall operators and their staff are eligible.

Cyclist dies after being hit by taxi

Police appealed for information on an accident in Tong Ming Street, Tseung Kwan O, at 4.53am on Saturday, when a taxi hit a bicycle. The cyclist died on Sunday. Witnesses can call 2305 7500.

HK$30,000 of cannabis seized
