Helicopter called in to help fight fire

A Government Flying Service helicopter was called in to water-bomb a fire that broke out at a computer recycling plant in Ping Che, Ta Kwu Ling, at 12.47pm yesterday and spread to a nearby hillside, burning an area of 100 metres square. Twenty-four fire engines and three ambulances were sent to the scene, and more than 100 firemen, who had to use a 1.5km-long hose to connect to water, fought the blaze, which was put out by 4.10pm.
