Balconies are an integral part of many modern apartments. However, when it comes to fung shui, they are not considered part of a home as they are open to the elements. Chi is unable to accumulate on a balcony and will scatter; enclosing it may allow beneficial energy, such as wealth or romance chi, to be incorporated into a home but this depends on the orientation and layout of the apartment.

Do not use your balcony as a storeroom; chi from your home may not be able to exit or circulate due to the physical blockage, leading to a sense of stagnation within the home.

You may raise the yang energy of a balcony by placing potted plants there but ensure they grow well and are not left to wither and die.
