Police are launching a two-week citywide campaign to promote road safety among pedestrians today, after the release of figures showing that 61 per cent of the 54 pedestrians killed in road accidents between January and September were aged over 60. Police will issue warnings to offenders and distribute leaflets to enhance public awareness of road safety. Stringent enforcement action will be taken against offenders in the second week.
