Holy F***

Holy F*** Latin (Young Turks/XL)

Holy F*** are known for a devil-may-care attitude that resulted in them choosing a name guaranteed to curtail radio airplay. Despite the title, their third instrumental record doesn't have any Latin tunes.

Tracks such as P.I.G.S with its persistent buzz beat and distortion is indicative of the album, while SHT MTN moves from Gameboy bleeps to a rousing track that sounds like a Chemical Brothers sample. The Toronto synth duo Brian Borcherdt and Graham Walsh are joined by previous tour partners, drummer Matt Schulz and bass player Matt McQuaid, and it is their addition that enhances the dance rockers' kinetic energy, but there's not enough individuality here to lift the tracks to something not heard before.
