Apartments keep executives in hi-tech contact with world

Swire Group

With time at a premium for most businesspeople, serviced apartments are a boon for global go-getters. An added benefit is to have easily accessible hi-tech business centres and conference facilities with Wi-fi internet access, fibre optics and projectors.

Many serviced apartments across Hong Kong offer such business centres on-site, while others have deals with nearby facilities.

Swire Properties' Pacific Place Apartments (PPA), located on Level 4 of Pacific Place in Admiralty, is linked to the conference centre at One Pacific Place and offers discounted rates to use the business centre at the adjoining Conrad Hotel.

According to Swire Properties' residential manager Coco Wong, it is important to cater to businesspeople by having such facilities nearby.

'We believe that executives deserve a tasteful, restful home-style apartment right at the centre of the city's core, with services that relieve them from any hassle, so that they can focus on making the most out of their stay here,' she says.

About 90 per cent of PPA's residents are Swire's long-standing corporate clients.

With most residents being professionals from around the world, Swire has developed an understanding of their business needs through years of relationships, she says. 'While businesspeople are usually working around a tight schedule, they are looking for accommodation with great accessibility and availability of business services and facilities.'

On the internet front, apart from complimentary plug-and-play broadband internet service available in all PPA apartments, the lobby is also equipped with wireless broadband for residents' instant use. There are no charges for local phone calls, with residents enjoying pre-installed IDD and fax connections in addition to voicemail.

While many serviced apartments charge residents for internet services, all PPA suites are fitted with free broadband internet. 'Our service is highly regarded by our business executives, saving these heavy internet users much cost and trouble in applying for and processing service connections,' Wong says.

Living at PPA also means residents can choose from multiple conference facilities within the Pacific Place complex.

'Pacific Place Conference Centre specialises in conferencing services and facilities for local and cross-country multilingual meetings and events,' she says.

Five-star meeting venues are also available at the adjoining hotels - the Conrad Hong Kong, Island Shangri-La Hong Kong and JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong. This means executives at PPA have direct access to a wide range of conference venues, with high-speed internet, multilocation video conferencing and other IT facilities.

Residents can also avail themselves of professional meeting and event planning services, five-star catering and simultaneous interpretation service, all under one roof - enabling busy executives to worry less about administration and logistics, and to focus on their work.
