Menswear fashion brand in the pink for store opening at The Landmark

Thomas Pink's store opening at The Landmark in Central on Tuesday featured an infinitely more generous use of pink than you'd usually see at a menswear fashion event.

There were pink balloons, cupcakes with pink frosting and free-flowing ros? bubbly, and guests were given a set of pink cufflinks as souvenirs.

The brand's president and chief executive, Jonathan Heilbron, pairing his charcoal grey suit with a berry red tie, said pink was an easy colour to pull off, even for guys.

'It's a fantastic colour for work and play. It stands out and gives you confidence,' he said.

The brand also flew in the head of its made-to-order department, Simon Maloney, to demonstrate the bespoke tailoring of shirts.

'I've always been careful picking shirts,' Heilbron said. 'I think I've got over 100 shirts now. The most important thing is to find a shirt that makes you feel good.'

Brandon Chau Kwok-fung, son of late lawyer and flamboyant socialite Kai-bong Chau, certainly buys the idea. He showed up to offer support as guest of honour.

The brand's marketing executive said Chau hadn't taken a penny to plug the brand. Guess Chau really takes his shirts seriously.
