Cantopop’s G.E.M. pays US$11 million for 2 Hong Kong flats at 35% discount from 2022 price
The transactions for the two units in Leon Court in Wan Chai were completed earlier this month for HK$85 million, government records show

Cantopop singer Gloria Tang Tze-kei has seized on weakness in Hong Kong’s property market to acquire two flats in Wan Chai at a 35 per cent discount from the peak price three years ago.
The celebrity, who goes by the stage name G.E.M., bought two 2,480 sq ft units in Leon Court at Wong Nai Chung Gap Road in Wan Chai for a combined HK$85 million (US$10.9 million). The transactions were completed in early March under her original name Tang Sze-wing, according to the Land Registry.
The previous owner combined the two flats into a duplex, according to agents. The transacted price represented a discount of 35 per cent, as another unit on a higher floor of the same building sold for HK$65 million in 2022, according to data on Centaline’s website.

Hong Kong property is one of the preferred investments of the city’s celebrities.
