Ankie Beilke shines at Adler

Model Ankie Beilke knows a thing or two about sprucing up an outfit with jewellery. After all, her first piece was a diamond and sapphire necklace her father gave her when she was just 12 years old.

"It can change a lot of things. If you just wear something very simple and add some beautiful twinkling jewellery, the whole [look] is really glamorous and eye-catching," she said. "You can also wear smaller things, which will still give you a classy style."

Being a model offers the chance to mix and match, which she did on Thursday when she modelled Adler's latest collection with her mother, Ankie Lau Heung-ping, at the brand's Prince's Building store.

Adler is sponsoring the jewellery Beilke will wear at the Berlin International Film Festival next month. She will attend several screenings and help promote , a movie being made by her mother's production company, with filming to begin in March. Beilke will play a university graduate who comes to Hong Kong to find her roots.

"I'm not really looking forward to the Berlinale because it's always very cold and windy. And usually, when you walk the red carpet, you don't wear anything warm. But it'll be a nice experience," said Beilke, who was born in Germany. "We're only planning to stay four days, just in time to return to Hong Kong for the Lunar New Year."
