In pictures: Hong Kong photographer Tugo Cheng’s coastal geometries

These striking images saw Hong Kong photographer Tugo Cheng named the International Discovery of the Year in the 2016 International Photographer of the Year competition.

The series of images taken by Tugo, a professional architect, was called Coastal Geometries.

They capture the aquaculture activities of Fujian province with the bamboo rods used for growing shellfish, drying seaweed and hanging fishing nets creating striking abstract patterns.
