About to go to bed? There’s a good chance you will be falling asleep to the dulcet tones of K-pop giants BTS.

Data from almost 600 sleep-related Spotify playlists has been analysed by British hotel chain Premier Inn, and it discovered that the BTS members were the most popular artists on the playlists.

US singer-songwriter Billie Eilish was in second place and British boy band One Direction were third.

In total, the playlists contained 43,000 songs and BTS appeared more than 1,700 times, with their tunes appearing an average of three times on each sleep-related playlist. BTS tracks such as Dynamite, The Truth Untold and Your Eyes Tell were among the most popular tracks to doze off to.

Dynamite was released in August as BTS’ upbeat English-language single to lift up those struggling with 2020. It became their first No 1 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The Truth Untold was released on 2018’s Love Yourself: Tear and its follow-up Love Yourself: Answer, while Your Eyes Tell arrived this year on their Japanese album, Map of the Soul: 7 ~ The Journey.

Overall, Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved was the most popular song across the Spotify sleep playlists, while Dynamite was the fifth most popular song overall.
