The best luxury hotel deals in Macau for when a travel bubble opens with Hong Kong

  • Luxury hotels in Macau have amazing deals and discounts – you can book now and stay later, or cancel for free
  • From the opulent Parisian to the charms of Morpheus and Grand Coloane, these five-star offers are hard to beat

With tentative talk of a travel bubble opening between Hong Kong and Macau, we took a look at some of the best hotel deals currently available in the Vegas of the East.

The deals we found are ones you can book now – while prices are low and special offers proliferate – and take advantage of later. And because no one really knows when the borders may reopen, we’ve only included hotels with generous rebooking and cancellation policies. We’ve included all the taxes and charges, too, so you don’t have to do any extra adding up.

The Parisian Macao

On the southern tip of the Cotai Strip, The Parisian has a 162 metre replica of the Eiffel Tower outside. Other attractions include the kid-friendly Aqua World water park and the psychedelic teamLab SuperNature Macao interactive digital art museum.

Very stylish rooms – clean lined in creams and dove grey – usually cost about HK$1,500 per night, but go to the Parisian website and you can book a Friday and Saturday night for HK$1,920, saving about HK$1,000. Alternatively, the one-night Parisian Macao Package starts from HK$1,318 and includes breakfast and a host of attraction tickets.

Both deals are valid until December 31, with free cancellation up to 48 hours before check in.

Four Seasons Hotel Macao

Serene, spoiling and small-scale (for Macau), the rate for a room at the Four Seasons Macao usually costs around HK$2,500, room only.

While the current Stay and Play package costs much the same, at HK$2,574, the offer comes with a plethora of extras, including a lavish buffet breakfast in Belcanção restaurant (which usually costs HK$260 per person), a HK$300 casino voucher, HK$300 worth of food and drink credit (enough for a couple of cocktails by the pool), and one-way Cotai Jet ferry tickets from Macau to Hong Kong (plus two more one-way tickets for a return visit in the following 30 days).

You’ll only find this offer on the Four Seasons website. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before arrival.

Studio City

A Gotham City aesthetic, a figure-of-eight Ferris wheel and an all-electric vehicle stunt show make Studio City one of the liveliest resorts in Macau. A vast swimming pool, an artificial beach, a children’s play area, VR bumper cars, a video arcade, a spa and two 24-hour gyms add to the fun.

Available until the end of December, guests can book Studio City’s Stay and Dine package for HK$1,038 (rooms usually cost HK$1,250, room only).

That rate includes breakfast or you can sleep in and use HK$400 of credits for lunch instead. The hotel has run flash sales in the past so it’s worth looking out for them, too. Free cancellations one day prior to arrival.

Morpheus

Morpheus in Macau is offering discounts of up to 60 per cent.

More like a living breathing thing than a collection of steel, glass and bricks, Morpheus is one of the world’s most extraordinary hotels – with a price tag to match.

Futuristic rooms usually cost upwards of HK$10,000 but the hotel’s Ultimate Luxury package knocks 60 per cent off, at HK$3,795 per night. This includes breakfast for two and a three-course lunch at Voyages by Alain Ducasse (the set lunch usually costs HK$202 per person). Splash out an additional HK$595 and you can upgrade to one of the spectacular Premier King Loft suites, which sprawl over two storeys.

The deal is available until December 31 and comes with free cancellation up to 6pm the evening before check-in.

The Mandarin Oriental Macau has a staycation promotion with HK$3,000 worth of perks for HK$2,838.

Mandarin Oriental Macau

The current Staycation by MO promotion is less about what you spend and more about what you save. At HK$2,838 it’s more expensive than the standard rate of HK$1,950, room only – but the added extras make it a bargain. The staycation deal (open to Hongkongers and valid until March 2021) includes a swanky breakfast (usually HK$220 per person), late checkout, and HK$300 of dining credit.

Also included is the choice of a room upgrade (plus another HK$1,000 credit) or two one-hour spa treatments (normally retailing from HK$1,150 each), all tallying up to over HK$3,000 of perks. Book direct and sign up to be a Fan of MO for even more treats, such as an early check-in or a celebration cake. Unwanted reservations must be cancelled by 6pm Macau time two days prior to arrival to avoid any penalties.

The Legend Palace in Macau.

Legend Palace

Overlooking the Fisherman’s Wharf strip, every room at the Legend Palace has a balcony, with the majority overlooking the water. Facilities include a cabana-line swimming pool, hi-tech gym and a health club offering foot rubs, facials and massages.

Pre-pandemic, a standard room, without breakfast, would cost HK$1,650, room only, but, until the end of October, you can book the hotel’s Stay Fun Deluxe deal for HK$1,056. This gets you an upgraded Superior Seaview room, a massive buffet breakfast, a free minibar, and two free tickets for the nearby VR ZONE Macau, where you can play games like Ski Rodeo. Free cancellations up to 48 before check-in.

The Grand Coloane has the best family-friendly deal.

Grand Coloane

The award for the best family-friendly hotel deal in Macau goes to long-time stalwart the Grand Coloane. Previously The Westin Resort, the hotel sits right on Hac Sa beach, backed by an 18-hole golf course. There’s a great kids’ club, mountain bikes for hire and no shortage of space by the numerous pools.

The airy accommodation usually costs about HK$1,500, room only, based on two people sharing. But the Buy Now Stay Later deal is HK$800 for a family of four, including two breakfasts. Or snag the Family Camp Getaway option, at HK$1,428, with breakfast for two adults and two children, a picnic lunch basket and a safari tent experience set up in the room.

Both deals are valid until the end of June next year. Fee-free cancellations can be made before 6pm one day prior to arrival.
