A breath of fresh air to the dining scene in Sai Kung, The Conservatory offers Mediterranean and pan-Asian fare, and is the eighth restaurant by husband and wife-run Enoteca Group, whose other restaurants includes Enoteca SoHo and Quarry Bay, Iberico & Co Kitchen & Bar, Cicada and The Phoenix.

The Conservatory is located in Sai Kung’s main square in the place where Grande once stood and offers alfresco dining seating 40 people, 20 inside and 20 out. The menu is packed with healthy delicious options with a choice of small or large plates.

We shared a range of small plates, starting with a deliciously creamy yet tangy goat cheese stuffed piquillo peppers (HK$78) and tangy snapper chunks (HK$88) in coconut milk with cilantro and lime juice. The pan-fried chilli garlic shrimp (HK98) is perfectly executed, not too spicy with lots of sauce, so save some bread for dipping. The spiced meatballs (HK$88) are a crowd favourite, and we loved the pan-fried spicy chorizo with onion (HK$89) and the chicken strips with peri peri sauce (HK$78) - but it is spicy. Peri peri sauce is for those who like their dish hot - there is even a peri peri chicken pizza. The pizzas are home-made with a thin crust and options range from margherita (HK$118) and wild mushroom (HK$138) to smoked Parma ham with mozzarella and rocket (HK$143). Save room for desserts such as cheese cake and banoffee - they are amazing.

There is a selection of wines from New Zealand, Australia,France and Spain in the HK$300 to HK$660 range.

The restaurant is child friendly with a children’s menu and space outside for them to play in the nearby park.
