5 things to know about Lola Lennox, daughter of Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox

Lola Lennox, 29, is a rising star. She is an accomplished model, singer and songwriter, and the February release of her first single, In the Wild, was accompanied by an unforgettable video that anyone who has experienced romantic heartbreak is sure to relate to.

If you do not know much about Lola, here are some fascinating facts to fill in the blanks.

1. Star-studded family

 

Lola Lennox comes from a famous family. Her mother, renowned singer and songwriter Annie Lennox, has won eight Brit Awards, four Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for her music.

Her father, Uri Fruchtmann, is a movie producer and director. Lola’s younger sister, Tali, is a successful model, artist and actress.

2. Inspired by nature

 

In 2019, Discovery launched its Serengeti series and tapped Lola Lennox to contribute to the soundtrack and voice the inner monologues for animals. She was delighted by both assignments, commenting that she considers nature to be the source of human existence. She says that nature helps to calm and ground her, and recommends that people leave their screens and connect with nature. She also points out the need to respect the natural world. Given those sentiments, it’s hardly surprising that the chorus of her latest release calls for listeners to go into the nature and into the wild.

3. Not inspired by her mum’s music

 

People the world over love Annie Lennox’s music, which makes it all the more surprising that her own daughter doesn’t care much for it. Lola says she doesn’t even have her mum’s songs on her Spotify list. Lola loves soul and jazz music, as well as pop music that she can sing along to. Lauryn Hill, Etta James and Dusty Springfield are among the singers that inspire her.

4. Composing and singing

Lola started composing and singing songs at a young age. She learned to play the piano when she was seven. When she was eight, she signed up for singing lessons at her school. She later joined the choir and tried out various music styles before settling on her current favourites. She was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music as a vocalist, but dropped out because she wanted to focus on singing and writing her own song lyrics. When she was a teen, she used to write songs and record them in her parents’ basement without their knowledge.

Those who appreciate Lola’s music will be pleased to hear that In the Wild won’t be her only single. She plans to release LalaLove Me, Back at Wrong and Pale. later in the year. The later songs will have an upbeat mood. Lola plans to release a full album in the future and has told fans that her songs will contain a wide range of emotions. Some will be upbeat, some intimate, while others will resemble a ballad.

Lola Lennox has put much time and effort into carving her own path through life rather than hanging on the coattails of her famous parents. Her efforts have been a success as fans discover the joy and beauty in her music, and she has plans to produce more of it so that the world can continue enjoying her voice and perspectives.
