If you still have a Crazy Rich Asians-shaped hole in your heart, get ready for Bling Empire, Netflix’s hottest new series.

So what is Bling Empire? It’s a reality TV show following super wealthy Asians and Asian-Americans living it up in Los Angeles, showcasing how they spend their time – and their insane fortunes. The group of real-life Crazy Rich Asians includes billionaire influencer Jaime Xie and fashion designer Kane Lim who enjoy luxury shopping sprees and lavish parties with eye-popping price tags.

Ahead of the show’s debut on January 15, here’s what we know about the show’s stars.

Jaime Xie

A permanent front-row fixture at every fashion week, Jaime Xie is a diehard fashionista. She’s the daughter of Ken Xie, a Beijing-born tech billionaire, and shops like only a billionaire heiress could, flaunting high-ticket labels like Chanel and Dior in photoshoots on her fashion blog. A former competitive equestrian, Xie chose to attend high school online so she could compete – which may suggest that making friends isn’t as important to this influencer as being No 1.

Kane Lim

The son of a Singaporean billionaire, Kane Lim comes from a similarly moneyed background as Xie – with the same taste for expensive luxury brands. Lim’s Instagram is filled with shots of his extravagant spending sprees, with a shoe collection rumoured to be worth around US$380,000. Although he was born into wealth, Lim does have his own entrepreneurial streak; using a loan from his father, he launched his own luxury fashion business when he was 19, and says that he made his first million by the time he was just 20 years old.

Christine Chiu

Married to a prominent Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Christine Chiu is a fierce collector of rare fashion pieces, and thinks nothing of dropping six figures on haute couture – as long as she’s the only one wearing it. After seeing Jessica Chastain wearing the same Chanel dress at an event, Chiu reportedly said she didn’t want the Oscar-nominated actor’s “sloppy seconds”. Competitive shopping aside, Chiu is also an active philanthropist and businesswoman in her own right – and not to mention one of the producers of this show.

Kevin Kreider

A self-made fitness influencer and model, Kevin Kreider is the black sheep of the cast. Originally from South Korea, he was adopted by a white American family at a young age and raised in Philadelphia. Growing up, Kreider often struggled with his Asian identity, which led to drug and alcohol abuse, debt and homelessness, before turning his life around through fitness and pursuing a career in modelling. Kreider didn’t exactly grow up poor (he did attend a prestigious private school) but doesn’t appear to be in the same tax bracket as Xie or Lim, who were born into billionaire families.
