Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin

Even at the Crash Landing on You press conference, when they were asked about these rumours, Hyun Bin said they had laughed about it. On January 1 this year, when Dispatch reported the news, they finally admitted that they are dating and have mentioned how they became close while playing golf together.

Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki, AKA “Song-Song couple”

Known as the “Song-Song couple”, Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki, like BinJin, began to date after working together in a popular drama – in this case Descendants of the Sun. After being seen together in New York in March 2016, and then in Bali in June 2017, the press suspected that they were dating, a fact which their agencies strongly denied at first, saying that they were best friends.

Sooyoung and Jung Kyung-ho

When we talk about K-celeb couples, we can’t leave out Jung Kyung-ho and Girls’ Generation member Sooyoung who have been dating for more than eight years. They too denied their relationship before eventually admitting it in 2014. To kill the rumours, Jung Kyung-ho even said on radio that he had a girlfriend who wasn’t a celebrity.

Later on, in the show Healing Camp in 2014, Sooyoung said that they denied the rumours because at the time they had just started seeing each other and the press didn’t have pictures of them together. Also, she didn’t want to be just known as someone’s girlfriend while she was facing the challenge of become an actress and MC. The popular idol is currently making a name for herself as the former, appearing in the drama Run On, while Jung Kyung-ho has successfully wrapped up the first season of Hospital Playlist.

Now, with their relationship a long-term one, people are curious to know if they are getting married. In Jung’s interview on the show Taxi, he said that if he gets an award for best actor, he wants to propose as part of the acceptance speech.

Park Shin-hye and Choi Tae-joon

Park Shin-hye has been on a roll with her work in the movie thrillers The Call and Alive. She denied being in a relationship with Choi Tae-joon at first but admitted it 10 months later, in March 2018, saying that they were in fact not dating at the time when rumours came up. Park Shin-hye’s agency Salt Entertainment said that they have been seeing each other since the end of 2017, and are very supportive of each other.

At the Alive press conference in June 2020, Park Shin-hye said that initially she wanted to keep her relationship private so she finds it difficult talking about it, but that their relationship is going strong. Since August 2019, Choi Tae-joon has been serving his military duty.

Hyuna and Dawn

The iconic K-pop couple Hyuna and Dawn, formerly of K-pop group Pentagon, also had to go through dramas of their own when it came to admitting their relationship – something usually forbidden in the industry. When the rumours came up, their agency, Cube Entertainment, denied them straight away. Hyuna admitted it though, saying they had been dating for two years in an exclusive interview with Yonhap and also posting on her personal Instagram that she wanted to be honest with her fans.

At the time Hyuna and Dawn were in the group Triple H with Hui, another member of Pentagon. Miscommunication of the official statements led to the agency cancelling all Triple H’s meetings with fans and leaving Dawn out of the group’s promotion for its latest single. It snowballed into Hyuna and Dawn getting kicked out from their agency with an official statement: “We decided the trust is broken beyond repair, so we are expelling the two from our company.”

Later, in January 2019, they found their new home at Psy’s newly-founded agency P Nation and each of them released singles. Now dating for more than five years, they are staying true to their words of wanting to be honest with their fans, actively uploading candid and sweet moments of them together, appearing on shows together and talking truthfully about each other in interviews.
