Fashion is meant to be fun, and Korea’s style stars are great at showing us how it’s done. This month there’s no stopping Givenchy ambassadors Aespa, who are in a world of their own when it comes to both music and fashion. Meanwhile, style mavens might want to take note of how Blackpink’s Jennie has been rocking her Calvin Kleins recently – and she’s not the only one.

Read on for a round-up of what our favourite Korean stars have been wearing and the lowdown on which summer trends to copy.

Top rookie group Aespa just dropped their latest music video, Next Level, a visual treat that not only showcases their bold fashion styles, but their versatile vocals and power choreography too.

Appearing to ride through space and time, Karina, Ningning, Winter and Giselle wear sporty bodysuits that look like spacesuits, structured mini dresses and lots of dreamy shiny leather and shimmery frocks. Wearing everything from Johanna Ortiz to Off-White and street style brands, their spot on styling perfectly fits the video’s virtual reality concept.

Then a few days after the music video dropped, the girls also debuted the latest collection from Givenchy on Instagram: 4G guipure lace mini dresses in pale pink and ink black, worn with a matching 4G box leather bag of their choice, and super thigh-high boots. One word to describe their head-to-toe Givenchy looks? Stunning.

Sehun and Nam Joo-hyuk kicked things up a notch in colours, layers – and that iconic saddle bag

Exo’s Sehun and actor-model Nam Joo-hyuk stepped out in the brand’s fall collection, inspired by the playful, colourful artworks of Kenny Scharf. The pieces that stood out most were Sehun’s knitted goat jumper, a multicoloured silk brocade coat layered over a printed shirt and an orange jacket, and Nam Joo-hyuk’s emerald green trousers. Undoubtedly the must-have accessory for both Dior boys? The saddle bag – worn nonchalantly of course.

Korean actress Bae Suzy appeared in a video wearing a Dior jumper and earrings revealing the essentials in her stone grey Lady Dior handbag, a classic which she embellished with personalised pins.

Gong Hyo-jin looked fresh in an ensemble from Piaget’s Possession collection

Looking every bit the chic style icon that she is, Gong Hyo-jin stepped out in a fresh, neutral-hued outfit accented entirely by Piaget. The brand ambassador wore a rose gold and malachite pendant necklace, open bangle bracelets, diamond encrusted rings and a watch from the brand’s Possession collection.

Frolicking on a bed in the latest looks from the Heron Preston for Calvin Klein collection, Blackpink’s Jennie showed off the bandeau bralette with a pair of 90s-fit indigo stone wash jeans.

Why is Korea so quick to cancel its stars?

Meanwhile model Irene Kim and songstress Sunmi also posted their latest Calvin Klein looks, sending a message that’s loud and clear: the new and hip way to wear inner wear is out – and with loose-fitting jeans.
