Osbourne underwent gastric sleeve weight-loss surgery in 2018 and, on The Hollywood Raw podcast in 2020, described it as being “the best thing” she had ever done. The surgery, which according to UCLA removes 75-80 per cent of the stomach, resulted in Osbourne losing 38.5kg.

She has been vocal about her decision to have the surgery, telling the podcast that it is far from a “quick fix” and requires a change in lifestyle. “All it does is move you in the right direction,” the reality TV star said.

A new way of life

Osbourne also told the Hollywood Raw podcast that she had to have a year of therapy ahead of the surgery, which put a stop to her addiction issues and helped prevent her from “emotionally eating”. She said she had to change her mindset ahead of the surgery and just “get happy”.

After losing the weight, Osbourne said she realised she was resentful of Hollywood.

“Now in retrospect, I know exactly who I’ll work with and who I won’t,” she said. “Because I know who called me fat, I know who didn’t want to work with me [because of that]. I take that, and I put it into my memory bank. I remember what you said about me, and that’s the best revenge.”

In an interview with ExtraTV in April, she also said that even though everyone applauded her on her looks, nobody ever asked how she felt.

A source told Life & Style magazine that Osbourne goes for regular walks for exercise and has “embraced her vegan diet”.

Plastic surgery denial

As Osbourne continues to turn heads with her dramatic transformation, questions have been raised about whether she has had plastic surgery. In December, she vehemently denied speculation from an Instagram commenter on social media, saying she has never touched her face – bar a few injections here and there.

After posting a picture of herself in May, she again had to address rumours that she had had plastic surgery, denying the allegations in a video.

Relapsing

ExtraTV reported in April that Osbourne admitted to relapsing, and in an interview with the channel she admitted that she thought she could handle herself because life was going well.

In another interview on the Knockin’ Doorz Down podcast, she said she went on a binge for a few days and then realised what had to be done. She admitted that she thought she could be “normal” and have a few drinks, but has to acknowledge that she can never have a normal relationship with alcohol.

Osbourne also admitted to relapsing publicly on her Instagram and said it was important to own up to her mistakes. Because she respects sobriety and what it has taught her, she decided to be open about her sobriety battle. She said she entered into an outpatient facility and signed up for different courses to manage her relapse.

“Just getting through 24 hours and not numbing yourself is, for an addict, a miracle,” she told the Knockin’ Doorz Down podcast.
