Inside Shinee member Key’s new luxury mansion in ‘Seoul’s Beverly Hills’ – he’s now neighbours with BTS, Exo, G-Dragon and Girls’ Generation’s Sunny in Hannam-dong

It’s always satisfying to get a peek into the opulent homes of wealthy celebrities. With their multimillion-dollar net worths, it’s no surprise that the biggest K-pop stars live in dream homes, mostly concentrated in the Gangnam, Itaewon and Chungdam areas known for their expensive property prices in Seoul.
Earlier this year, Shinee’s Key moved into a new luxury home. On an episode of MBC’s I Live Alone, the singer said he has been living by himself for eight years and gave his fans a tour of his new property located in ultra-rich Hannam-dong.

He doesn’t know how many rooms are in his house

Imagine living in a mansion so big that you don’t even know how many rooms it has! This is exactly what happened to Key, who revealed on the show that he had no idea how many rooms were in his enormous house.

During his appearance on MBC’s I Live Alone, when host Kian84 asked him about the number of rooms, he said, “I haven’t exactly counted yet” and added “I’m not sure if I should be counting the smaller rooms or not”.

But although the exact number of rooms is still unknown, we’re guessing there are at least six rooms including the dressing room, theatre, bedroom, terrace, kitchen and living room based on the tour on the show.

He has many celebrity neighbours

K-pop fans are probably familiar with ritzy Hannam-dong. The affluent area is filled with lavish properties that are home to celebrities like G-Dragon, BTS, Sunny from Girls’ Generation and Exo, reports Flokq.

Key chose to live at UN Village, a gated community in Hannam-dong known as “Seoul’s Beverly Hills”. Other famous residents include BTS’ Suga, who dropped US$3 million on a lavish mansion in 2019, reports The JoongAng.

Other celebrities who call UN Village home include Shin Min-a, Han Hyo-joo, Han Chae-young, Ha Ji-won, Lee Young-ae, Park Ye-jin and Lee Hyori, according to Mansion Global.

He has an outrageous Han River view

The Hannam-dong area is also popular for its amazing Han River view. Key’s customised terrace becomes a great dining and entertaining area at night; it’s widely known that Key enjoys cooking for his friends and bandmates, so he’s sure to host some excellent dinner parties.

His garden for his beloved pets

There’s another special feature right next to the terrace – Key’s customised garden. He even has plants and some spring onion planted on the terrace that he likes to use for cooking. His pets CommeDes and Garçons were seen playing on the terrace in the I Live Alone episode.

During his appearance on MBC’s Where Is My Home in March, Key said his home is completely focused on his dogs, adding that he moved to his current house with a garden so his dogs could have plenty of room to run and play in, reports AllKpop.

He designed the interiors himself

Key’s new luxury home has modern interiors including simple white tones with some plants for a natural vibe. During his appearance on I Live Alone, the K-pop star revealed that he wanted to adopt a minimal look. “I wanted to empty it all out,” he said.

During the show, Key also revealed that he decorated his home with his own paintings and drawings.
