Celebrities are known to go all out on their wedding days by splurging on their dress, venue and flowers. But K-stars like Jun Ji-hyun and Park Soo-jin went a step further, splashing on glitzy rings, cars and even a multimillion-dollar tiara for the occasion.

If you keep up with K-star wedding news, you must have seen the stunning US$9,000 Reem Acra gown that Jun Ji-hyun wore on her big day in 2012. The 40-year-old actress, who married Choi Joon-hyuk, also opted for luxury accessories such as a 500 million won (US$424,300) wedding ring in her wedding pictorial as well as a 1.2 billion won (US$7.9 million) tiara, according to Chosun newspaper.

The star-studded ceremony, which took place in Shilla Hotel in Seoul, saw the likes of Song Joong-ki, Han Ye-seul, Ha Jung-woo and Lee Young-ae in attendance.

Iris star Kim Seung-woo and Misty actress Kim Nam-joo tied the knot in a glitzy ceremony in 2005. Nam-joo’s wedding dress reportedly cost 25 million won (US$21,200), while her diamond earrings boasted a price of 300 million won (US$254,700), reports Mground.

During an appearance on MBC’s Radio Star, popular South Korean stylist Kim Sung-il, who was in charge of Nam-joo’s wedding, opened up about designing the starlet’s dress and also finding the perfect pair of water-drop, six-carat diamond earrings. He said that seeing Nam-joo’s final wedding look brought him to tears, reports mt.co.kr.

It might be a surprise to see K-pop star Lee Hyori, who is known for kick-starting the small wedding trend in South Korea, make it on this list of expensive weddings. While many of us might think that small also means cheaper, this was not the case when Hyori tied the knot with musician Lee Sang-soon in 2013.

The couple decided to have their wedding at home in their garden in Jeju island. But Hyori invited the renowned chef and winner of MasterChef Korea, Kim Seungmin, to prepare the food for her special day. And costs definitely went up when the singer paid for her wedding guests’ flight tickets and accommodation.

In 2005, businessman and former actor Bae Yong-joon, and actress Park Soo-jin, kicked off their wedding celebration in a car that cost around US$1 million, reports Soompi. The Tasty Road host reportedly donned a dress from a high-end brand called L, and it’s estimated to have cost between a thousand dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, according to Soompi.

According to Her World, the stars chose the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill hotel in Seoul, which is popular for its size, and Bae’s company KeyEast gave out US$10,000 worth of free meal coupons and coffee to fans who queued up outside the wedding hotel, reports Kdramastars.
