Jamie Foxx has cemented his career in showbiz, as an award-winning singer, actor and comedian. Some would say that’s a hard act to follow, to say the least, but his daughter Corinne seems to be catching up quickly in becoming a multi-hyphenated talent herself.

Born Corinne Marie Bishop in Los Angeles to Jamie Foxx and ex-girlfriend Connie Kline, the stunning 28 year old has been making a name for herself in the Hollywood limelight recently.

So, what do we know about her so far?

Jamie loves bringing his two daughters to red carpet events. Corinne has a half-sister, Annalise Bishop, 13, whom Jamie had with former girlfriend Kristin Grannis. Both of their mums stay out of the public eye and not much is known about them.

Corinne and Annalise were seen as dad’s plus-ones at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards together. Jamie’s older daughter has also graced the red carpet with her father at the 2016 Golden Globes, 2018 BET Awards and the 2021 Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere.

She prioritises her studies

Despite having busy careers in acting and modelling, Corinne makes sure to keep up with her studies. In 2016, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in public relations.

She also enrolled in acting at Los Angeles’ Howard Fine Acting Studio and American Academy For Dramatic Arts, before starting her modelling career. It wasn’t her first foray into the entertainment industry though, with one of her earliest on-screen appearances being a dancer in Pharrell Williams’ Happy music video back in 2013.

A rising star

If you think Corinne looks familiar, she probably is. Joining Jamie’s popular Beat Shazam reality TV game show, where contestants have to guess the title of a song before the song identification app Shazam does, Corinne stars alongside her main host dad as the in-house DJ. She also landed the title of Miss Golden Globe in 2016.

In terms of films, Corinne has starred in 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, Safety and Dollface, alongside Kat Dennings, Shay Mitchell and Brenda Song. Corinne also worked with Jamie to help produce Netflix’s comedy show Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! which aired in 2021.

Away from producing and acting, Corinne also has a podcast, which she co-hosts with Natalie McMillan called Am I Doing This Right? where they discuss the complexities of adulthood.

The bombshell also walked the runway for Dolce & Gabbana and appeared in a fashion campaign for the luxury brand. She’s strutted for Sherri Hill and Kanye West’s Yeezy and appeared on a group cover of Vogue Japan’s August 2017 issue too.

Empowering women and shining a light on mental health

In 2017, she launched a lifestyle website, Foxxtales, to share her travel stories with the world. It also became a platform for women entrepreneurs, offering an online marketplace exclusively featuring female-run, artisanal businesses.

She also co-chaired Girl Up’s #girlhero awards in 2018, honouring Olivia Munn, Yara Shahidi and Chrissy Metz. The host’s committee featured Kristen Bell, Scarlett Johansson, Katy Perry and Renée Zellweger, among many other inspiring women. Girl Up, a part of the UN Foundation, promotes the health, safety, education and leadership of girls in developing countries.

And her work has not gone unrecognised. She was awarded the Young Leaders Creating a Better World For All by the Women Economic Forum in 2018.

Aside from Girl Up, Foxx has also been involved with WrapWomen and The Female Quotient. She is also an ambassador for the Endometriosis Foundation of America.

Aside from women empowerment, Foxx also uses her platform for spreading awareness of mental health. She has her clothing collection on Shine The Light On, an organisation focusing on mental health. Her collection is in partnership with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), which she is also an ambassador for.
