If you’ve been keeping up with the seemingly endless stream of YouTuber drama lately, chances are you’ve come across the latest beef between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis, who are scheduled to fight in the ring on October 14 this year.

Paul, a WWE boxer, and Danis, an MMA fighter, have made multiple headlines for their controversial pre-fight trolling of each other, with some fans accusing the boys of going too far.

In the world of fighting, many opponents tend to taunt each other in the weeks leading up to the game for a number of reasons. Not only does it generate hype around the fight with the possibility of drawing more eyeballs to the game once the date does arrive, but it can also create more tension between the fighters before they face off in the ring. Often dubbed “trash talking”, a method mastered by legends like Muhammad Ali, these remarks typically involve dissing one another – however, while respecting the unspoken boundaries of not going “too far” in the process.

So, how did Logan Paul and Dillon Danis kick it up a notch – and what do fans think?

First things first – mark your calendars. The event is scheduled for October 14 and will take place in Manchester, England. ESPN has reported that Paul vs. Danis will be part of a double main event, with the second big fight being between fellow YouTube star KSI and UK reality star Tommy Fury. KSI is credited for popularising the influencer boxing trend with Logan and his brother Jake, per ESPN.

The fight was first announced on August 8, meaning Paul and Danis have been jabbing at each other for weeks now.

Their trolls and jabs are going viral

According to Yahoo! Sports, the two are fighting over alleged insults towards their respective partners, family issues and the fight itself.

Danis is a “controversial” fighter known for his links to Irish MMA champion Conor McGregor, according to MMA News – and he’s proven that he isn’t afraid of talking smack about his opponents. He’s been hurling insults at Paul targeting his character and even his fiancé Nina Agdal.

In response, Paul’s been posting videos of him betting US$1 million that he will beat Danis. Danis fired back on X (formerly Twitter) by saying that if Danis won, then Paul would have to make him his best man at his upcoming wedding.

It goes on and on. One viral post from Danis stated that he and the Pauls (Logan and his brother Jake) “have had beef since forever”. “Logan ridiculed me for years, attacked Floyd [Mayweather]’s wife, filmed a deceased person, scammed millions,” he shared, amid other allegations, before ending with “this isn’t a tennis match; this is the fight business”.

Nina Agdal’s previous love life is in the limelight too

However, the trash talk getting the most headlines has been Danis’ endless posts about Paul’s fiancé and Victoria’s Secret model, Nina Agdal. Paul and Agdal got engaged in July.

To tick Paul off, Danis scoured the internet to find dozens of photos of Agdal with other men, from her ex Leonardo DiCaprio to LeBron James and countless others. According to Distractify, Danis also shared Photoshopped images of him with the model, garnering mixed reactions from fans, with some accusing him of going too far by dragging others into the dispute. Many netizens remain on the fence, not approving of either side’s attempts to humiliate the other in the public sphere.

The two competitors continued the spat in person at a heated press conference last week, per sports streaming service DAZN. It reportedly got so intense that the boys had to be held apart by security.

On his podcast Impaulsive, Paul said: “I’m convinced he’s not going to show up. The clause is this: if he pulls out because of some sort of injury that he fakes, a doctor of our choosing has to verify the injury. And then if he is indeed faking it, he has to pay US$100,000. There is a pull-out clause.”

The digs at Agdal keep on coming too, with some fans even piling on by sharing photos of the star with other men from her past. In a recent interview with Misfits Boxing, Paul said that his opponent had “gone too far [with his X posts] but it’s not affecting me”.

So who else has Nina Agdal dated?

Agdal has dated several high-profile men in the past.

She was famously linked to DiCaprio for about a year before they split in 2017, per People magazine. The model has also dated Joe Jonas, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, and Jack Brinkley-Cook, the son of former supermodel Christie Brinkley, per Distractify.

What about Logan Paul’s crypto drama?

This isn’t the first time that Paul has found himself embroiled in controversy. In 2021, he announced an animated NFT project called CryptoZoo, asking users to pay just over US$1,100 to “hatch” and “breed, collect and trade exotic animal hybrids on the blockchain”, per Coinbase.

But the game doesn’t exist to this day, according to the New York Post. In January, after the scheme was exposed, Paul shared that he had a US$1.5 million recovery plan to compensate the displeased investors. In July, Paul reportedly still hasn’t refunded the fans – something that has unsurprisingly drawn widespread criticism, per the New York Post.
