Dune actor Timothée Chalamet is officially an uncle. It was revealed in early October that Chalamet’s elder sister, Pauline Chalamet, 32, welcomed her first child in September with her partner, film producer Rhys Raiskin.

Although Pauline generally keeps her private life under wraps, she couldn’t help sharing the news to Barbie director Greta Gerwig at Stella McCartney’s Paris Fashion Week show. In a video that circulated on X (formerly Twitter), she gushed, “Yeah! We just had a baby! Three weeks ago.”
The actress is also set to reprise her role as Kimberly Finkle in The Sex Lives of College Girls as the TV show returns for season three this month.
As she enters her mum era, here are a few things to know about The Sex Lives of College Girls actress.
Pauline Chalamet is from an accomplished family

Pauline’s American mum, Nicole Flender, is a former Broadway dancer and a language teacher who graduated from Yale University. Meanwhile, her French dad Marc Chalamet is an editor for Unicef and the former New York correspondent for Le Parisien. If that’s not enough, her uncle is the director Rodman Flender and her aunt is writer and producer Amy Lippman.
Raised in Manhattan Plaza, a subsidised housing complex for artists, Pauline said that the love for art “was in my family, and it was also really in the building in which I grew up,” according to Vanity Fair.
She is a Parisian at heart

Pauline wanted to become a ballerina at first and attended the School of American Ballet. She enrolled in the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and earned her bachelor’s – she was a double major – from Bard College.
She then moved to Paris to study at the Studio Théâtre d’Asnières and even dabbled in directing a few short films. She lived in Paris for several years and still has her flat in the French city today.
“I feel very much at home in Paris, but I’m attached to New York. I really have a love-hate relationship with New York,” she told Nylon.
She is very close to her brother, Timothée Chalamet

“We were talking about it recently. We’re like, [working with] Warner Brothers, both of us. That’s crazy. It is; it’s surreal. I mean, just being in one movie in your life is surreal,” she told Vanity Fair in an interview.
Pauline also added that their success “doesn’t impact their relationship” and that they’re mutually supportive of each other’s work. The siblings also often wish each other happy birthday on Instagram. In 2019, Timmy (as he is affectionately called by his sister) posted an image of Pauline across a dinner table and wrote, “bday gurl … the big 5-0 so soon!!”
She’s an actress

It’s not every day that a Hollywood star’s sibling follows in their footsteps. But that’s exactly what Pauline did. She starred in Mindy Kaling’s teen comedy show The Sex Lives of College Girls, which premiered on HBO Max in 2021. The show’s third instalment is set to premiere on November 21.
Pauline actually started acting at the age of seven in the soap opera One Life to Live and made her debut in a small role opposite Pete Davidson in The King of Staten Island in 2020. But the role of Kimberly Finkle in The Sex Lives of College Girls was her first major acting job.
She is a voracious reader and a singer too

Have a quick scroll through Pauline’s Instagram account and you will see posts dedicated solely to books, from Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables and Robin DiAngelo’s White Fragility, to Milan Kundera’s The Unbearable Lightness of Being – which she read in French, of course. The star even once uploaded a list of books she had read in 2020.
Not only is she a bookworm, she also loves to sing and play musical instruments. “I take enormous pleasure in making and listening to music because it relaxes me,” she told L’Officiel USA.
She loves the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

When asked how they bonded behind the camera, the cast of The Sex Lives of College Girls told E! Online that they were hooked on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 11 during filming and watched it religiously, in particular for Erika Jayne’s legal drama.
