Dior’s womenswear creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, has collaborated with Italian ballet dancer, model and actress Eleonora Abbagnato to design costumes for Nuit Blanche – one of three shows being staged in honour of composer and musician Philip Glass at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.

Chiuri has created 16 costumes, including bodysuits and ensembles using functional materials like knits and tulle for the dancers, in line with her theme dedicated to the art of movement.

The director of ballet of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and an étoile from the Opéra National de Paris will be appearing on stage alongside star dancer Friedemann Vogel in a piece choreographed by Sébastien Bertaud.

Chiuri, who has a lifelong passion for dance, also recently collaborated with choreographer Sharon Eyal for her spring/summer 2019 ready-to-wear collection.
