Bottega Veneta, The Attico, Alessandra Rich, Miu Miu, Chloé … There are not many shops that carry pieces from both luxury houses and avant-garde streetwear brands.

K11 Musea has unveiled the first Hong Kong flagship of Antonia, the Milan-based multi-brand boutique founded by style mavens and power couple Antonia Giacinti and Maurizio Purificato.

If you are in the know, you might have already visited Antonia’s Macau outpost, located at The Parisian Macao. It is the first Antonia store in the Asia-Pacific region.

The mannequins on K11 Antonia’s shop floor are made using 3D scanning and print technologies which look hyperrealistic because they are modelled on real people.

But now, Hong Kong fashionistas no longer need to take a ferry to Macau for a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.

Art-retail destination K11 Musea has dedicated 5,700 square feet of space to the new K11 Antonia store, designed by Antonia’s long-time professional partner, Italian architect Vincenzo de Cotiis. The translucent pastel pink sneaker wall in the men’s area, made with specially treated fibreglass, appeals to sneaker fans, while the custom-sculpted curved marble island in the women’s area displays seasonal looks for Instagram-worthy moments.

This is not the first time that K11 Musea founder Adrian Cheng has delivered fashion-forward experiences to his Victoria Dockside mall.

Muse Edition, the K11 Musea fashion annex where Antonia is located, is filled with buzzworthy, cult-status brands. Golden Goose, famous for its exclusive shoe customisation, opened its first Hong Kong flagship store on the ground floor location at the end of last year.

More recently, Hong Kong’s first Chiara Ferragni flagship opened at K11 Musea (the namesake founder being one of the world’s most followed fashion bloggers).

Each look caters to the classic K11 Antonia man or woman, someone who is confident and adventurous in the style and brands they pick

“We have waited several years to find the right partner, which happened to be Adrian Cheng and his leading group in Asia,” says Antonia co-founder Giacinti. “The launch of K11 Antonia marks our shared vision of nurturing different forms of fashion cultures and dialogues from around the world.”

Giacinti added a personal touch to the launch of the new boutique: more than 50 spring/summer 2020 looks were curated by Giacinti herself, seen on mannequins leading up to the boutique from the mall’s Opera Theatre.

Giacinti says, “Each look caters to the classic K11 Antonia man or woman, someone who is confident and adventurous in the style and brands they pick.”

The looks on the orange carpet were divided into three key trends from spring/summer 2020: “Pastel Sorbet Dreams”, “Garden Party” and “Natural Earth Tones”.

Pieces included Alevi’s Toni snake shoes in silver (HK$7,190). The brand’s sandals are a favourite among millennial celebrities such as Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber.

There was also the polka-dot dress from Ganni (HK$2,690). The Danish label is popular among actresses including Margot Robbie and Jessica Alba.

But it was not all about who-wears-what, as seen in Giacinti’s choices for the “Natural Earth Tone” looks. These pieces adopted a more sustainable approach.

“As we prioritise environmental consciousness, the fashion world offers materials and colours from the earth and nature by readopting natural fibres such as linen, raffia and organic cotton in an earthy palette of off-white, sand and browns,” says Giacinti.

“Brands such as Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Miu Miu, Jacquemus, A.W.A.K.E. Mode and Alanui are all spreading the word.”
