Watchmaker MB&F unveils the world’s first projected moonphase display

MB&F’s MoonMachine2 features the world’s first projected moonphase display.

Swiss brand MB&F has collaborated with independent Finnish watchmaker Stepan Sarpaneva for the second time to unveil the world’s first projected moonphase display, the MoonMachine 2.

MB&F collaborates with Finnish watchmaker Stepan Sarpaneva to create the MoonMachine2.
Based on the case shape of the 2016 Horological Machine No 8 and the heads-up display from the Horological Machine No 5, the wristwatch features a moonphase complication along with the jumping hours and wandering minutes using an optical prism.

Stepan has created his smallest moons ever – a technical challenge due to their extreme dimensions, as thin as 0.07mm.

MB&F’s MoonMachine 2 is like an optical illusion.
When you glance at the time on the lateral display, you are looking at a projected image of the hour, minute and moonphase discs. It’s like an optical illusion.

Each model is limited to 12 pieces.
