Introduction

ONE Championship returned to action on Saturday morning at Bangkok’s famed Lumpinee Stadium for another stacked card, and there were several stunning finishes – not least from Superbon Singha Mawynn.

Two title bouts headlined ONE Fight Night 11 in Thailand, with Regian Eersel up in the main event now as he defended hi8s lightweight Muay Thai title in incredible fashion against Russian newcomer Dmitry Menshikov.

The Dutch-Surinamese fighter needed just 46 seconds to stop former Glory standout Menshikov, setting up a glancing left hook with a knee up the middle. Referee Olivier Coste waived it off with the Russian on wobbly legs getting up.

The co-main event early saw lightweight submission grappling champ Kade Ruotolo retain his title against the Norwegian challenger Tommy Langaker with a unanimous decision.

But perhaps the most interesting bout for fans inside the arena – and those watching at home, with the event being broadcast on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service in the US – was the return of Superbon.

The former featherweight kickboxing king was back after surrendering his title in January, taking on Tayfun Ozcan in what became something of a grudge match.

The 32-year-old Thai looked nervous in the first round but came got into his groove in the second before unloading on the Dutch-Turkish fighter with a brutal head kick to left him out cold.

Ozcan was stretchered out of the ring, and Superbon was awarded a US$50,000 bonus for his efforts, before calling for a title shot against the winner of the title fight between his old foes Chingiz Allazov and Marat Grigorian.

Here is how all the action unfolded on Saturday.
