Estonian daredevil completes world’s longest single-building slackline at 185m elevation

Estonian daredevil Jaan Roose successfully completed the world’s longest single-building slackline, walking 150 metres across, 185m above the ground in Doha.

Recently released videos showed Roose, undeterred by windy conditions, crossing a slackline between the Raffles and Fairmont hotels in Qatar’s capital.

“Oh, that was a fight,” Roose said after reaching the other side of the iconic buildings.

The three-time slackline world champion started the feat before dawn, using LEDs strung along the line to light his way.

“I feel fantastic, actually,” the 31-year-old said when reflecting on his accomplishment.

“After so much work, working at night, trying to find the perfect moment during the day with less wind, with no sun just to set it up and finally find a moment to walk it and get to the other side. It feels great.”

This was Roose’s highest urban walk, on a line 2.5cm (one inch) wide.
