Race Seven: (468)-THE HONG KONG MACAU TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 1 - 1400Metres
KELOWNA STAR and BOBO SO CUTE were slow to begin.RIVER BOBO began only fairly.
JOLLY BANNER began only fairly and then, despite being ridden along in the early stages, failed to muster speed.
From a wide barrier, ROMANTIC TOUCH was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1100 Metres, LUCKY YEAR shifted in and bumped RACING SUPERNOVA.
Approaching the 400 Metres, JOLLY BANNER was held up for clear running behind PERFECT ALLOY.
Then passing the 400 Metres, JOLLY BANNER was shifted to the inside of PERFECT ALLOY in an endeavour to improve into tight running inside that horse.
JOLLY BANNER was then crowded for room near the 350 Metres when PERFECT ALLOY shifted in marginally away from the heels of SPARTA which also shifted in marginally.
This resulted in both JOLLY BANNER and PERFECT ALLOY becoming badly unbalanced and losing ground.
Throughout the race, DASHING FELLOW travelled wide and without cover.
JOLLY BANNER, INVINCIBLE DRAGON and SIMPLY INVINCIBLE were sent for sampling.

Invincible Dragon came on strongly after travelling fourth from the rear to get up 30m out for a fourth win from nine starts. He was suited by the fast pace but is a Group Three winner waiting to happen over the 1,400m or 1,600m. Simply Invincible found one too good after cruising to the front 300m out following a one-off run travelling worse than midfield. He lost nothing in defeat and remains one to follow up to a mile when next stepping out. Romantic Touch was ridden for luck from a wide gat and finished very well to get up for a placing. The pace suited but he's always one capable of big runs. New Asia Sunrise ran his eyeballs out yet again despite a deep run with cover travelling fore of midfield to only lose a placing late. Racing Supernova finished best of those up on the speed following a box-seat run behind a strong pace. He's better ridden with patience. Favourite Jolly Banner was held up early straight and was hampered 200m out.
