Pearl Warm Warm came with a sweeping run after travelling fourth from the rear to win going away 120m out. He was too good following a downgrade but has trouble sticking out in Class Four. Gold Talent rallied strongly travelling two from the back to grab second 50m out. He's racing consistently well without winning. Cash Courier dashed nicely from the tail of the pack to grab third 30m out. He pops up at times. Otouto grudgingly gave way after clearing to the front from gate 10. He was given every chance under 10- pound claimer Victor Wong. Exponents kept on all right following a one-out, one-back run. He's shown some progress in two of his past three starts. Unique Joyful wasn't beaten far in the end after a no-cover run the entire trip in midfield from the widest gate.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (623) - THE PURVES QUAICH (HANDICAP) - Class 5 - 1400Meters

WINNINGLI shifted in at the start and bumped DRAGON WARRIOR.

BONITO was crowded for room on jumping between CASH COURIER and PEARL WARM WARM which shifted out.

OTOUTO began awkwardly and dipped.

XIANG HUANG QI began only fairly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners.

Also from wide barriers, GOLD TALENT and YOURTHEWONFORME were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

SOCCER BRAVE lost its left hind plate in the early stages.

Passing the 1200 Metres, SOCCER BRAVE was steadied away from the heels of EXPONENTS (K C Leung) which shifted in when not properly clear.

K C Leung was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he provides the necessary clearance when shifting ground.

Passing the 1000 Metres, PEARL WARM WARM was awkwardly placed close to the heels of XIANG HUANG QI which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of UNIQUE JOYFUL which throughout the race travelled wide and without cover.

At the 300 Metres, M Chadwick (GOLD TALENT) dropped his whip.

As this was the third occasion this season that M Chadwick had been reported to have dropped his whip, he was informed that should he again drop his whip during a race this season, he may be penalised.

Passing the 300 Metres, CASH COURIER was directed to the outside of SOCCER BRAVE to improve its position.

Over the concluding stages, UNIQUE JOYFUL was awkwardly placed inside the heels of CASH COURIER which, when improving into tight running inside GOLD TALENT, was directed in marginally by that horse.

Consequently UNIQUE JOYFUL was not able to be properly tested all the way to the end of the race.

After the race, N Callan (XIANG HUANG QI) and C Schofield (HAPPY OUT THERE) reported that their respective mounts did not feel comfortable in their action.

A veterinary inspection of XIANG HUANG QI immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a small wound to the inside of the left hind cannon.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY OUT THERE immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.

The performances of XIANG HUANG QI and HAPPY OUT THERE together with BONITO, all of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, XIANG HUANG QI, HAPPY OUT THERE and BONITO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of YOURTHEWONFORME, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS and BONITO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

YOURTHEWONFORME, PEARL WARM WARM and GOLD TALENT were sent for sampling.
