Racing Incident Report
Race One: (789) - STREET CAT HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters
Shortly after the start, ROOKIE STAR was bumped by GLORY STAR which shifted in.
From the outside barriers, DUTCH WINDMILL, MI BLANCO and CELEBRATION were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, ROOKIE STAR was momentarily steadied away from the heels of MY BLESSING when being shifted in behind that horse to obtain cover.
MONEY WINNER, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of ROOKIE STAR in consequence.
Near the 950 Metres, TELECOM TITAN, which had been racing keenly, was checked away from the heels of MAGIC AGILITY.
After this, TELECOM TITAN continued to race close to the heels of MAGIC AGILITY.
Passing the 650 Metres, TELECOM TITAN and MONEY WINNER raced tight as TELECOM TITAN shifted out.
This resulted in MONEY WINNER being left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 500 Metres, MONEY WINNER was awkwardly placed behind ROOKIE STAR which shifted out when racing close to the heels of GLORY STAR.
Passing the 450 Metres, MONEY WINNER was again awkwardly placed outside the heels of ROOKIE STAR which shifted to the outside of GLORY STAR.
LETSGOFREE had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Near the 150 Metres, CELEBRATION shifted in and brushed DUTCH WINDMILL.
Approaching the 100 Metres, MONEY WINNER and LETSGOFREE raced tight.
J Moreira (LETSGOFREE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of GLORY STAR, resulting in that horse being hampered and taken out onto TELECOM TITAN which as a result was also hampered and lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled.
GOLDEN DEER was shifted out away from TELECOM TITAN in consequence.
In the circumstances, the Stewards believed that the appropriate penalty was for J Moreira to be fined the sum $180,000.
A veterinary inspection of MY BLESSING and TELECOM TITAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
MONEY WINNER, LETSGOFREE and CELEBRATION were sent for sampling.

Letsgofree just got up in the nick of time after barging his way off the fence beyond midfield for a clear run approaching the 200m fence for a second win this season. Celebration finished strongly down the outside after travelling at the rear of the field to just miss out in a tight photo. Dutch Windmill closed nicely to finish a close third following a deep run with cover settling fourth from the back. He'll be winning early next season at this level especially if he draws a proper gate. Rookie Star was swamped late after hitting the front 150m out following a prominent run. He's still a work in progress but is in the right grade now. Favourite Money Winner ran on steadily without menacing the placegetters following a deep run without cover in midfield. He had excuses and is another who should be able to ring up a win shortly at this level. My Honey grudgingly gave way after dictating the run. It was another positive run following a downgrade last start.
