Racing Incident Report
Race One: (322) - PATERSON HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters
COURT RULER shifted in at the start and bumped HORSE BULLET.
DOCTORS DELIGHT was bumped at the start by THE HAPPY BUNCH which was taken out by HAPPY HAPPY.
DOCTORS DELIGHT then shifted out, resulting in GOLDEN CANNON being crowded for room inside GLORIAM.
After this, GOLDEN CANNON was shifted across behind runners.
ENJOYABLE SUCCESS was slow to begin and shortly after the start was shifted across behind runners.
HAPPY HAPPY travelled keenly in the middle stages.
Rounding the Home Turn, HORSE BULLET got its head on the side and lay out.
Passing the 300 Metres, GOLDEN CANNON and DOCTORS DELIGHT raced tight as GOLDEN CANNON attempted to shift to the outside of GLORIAM to obtain clear running.
When unable to shift out at this stage, GOLDEN CANNON was then shifted to the inside of GLORIAM to continue improving.
Passing the 150 Metres, HORSE BULLET was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN CANNON (C Y Ho) which shifted in.
C Y Ho was advised to exercise more care.
After the race, Z Purton was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of KWAICHUNG BROTHERS.
He said from the outside barrier he shifted the horse across behind runners and it was ridden in a similar manner to its last start when successful.
He said unlike that occasion, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS did not finish off the race tonight.
A veterinary inspection of KWAICHUNG BROTHERS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of KWAICHUNG BROTHERS, a last start winner and which finished towards the rear of the field, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of DOCTORS DELIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DOCTORS DELIGHT, SPINNING DANCER, GLORIAM and GOLDEN CANNON were sent for sampling.

Old-timer Spinning Dancer got up 60m out for a second straight win after getting a wellexecuted ride by Neil Callan to find cover one-off in midfield from a wide gate. Golden Cannon came home very well after being held up early straight and having to switch inside off heels at the 100m travelling third from the rear to finish level for second. Gloriam closed nicely racing one-off behind midfield to dead-heat for second. It was his best run to date. Showing Character was swamped late after hitting the front 200m out racing prominent with cover behind a genuine pace. The mile's a tad too far for him. Favourite Doctors Delight ran on without menacing following a patient ride fourth from the rear. He got too far back on this occasion but does appear to have the tools to eventually score at this level. Last-start winner Kwaichung Brothers only beat a few travelling second from the rear despite a good pace. This run was hard to explain.
