Recap by phillip woo

Nicholson Returns drew clear after hitting the front 250m out following a patient ride four back and one off the fence. He was suited by the pace after putting the writing on the wall following a downgrade last start. Sharpen Bright came from near last to easily grab second. It was his best run to date but like the winner, he was suited by the pace up front. Romantic Fantasy ran on well from midfield to spice up the exotics. It was a vastly improved run at his second career start. Wonder Years came from last after his usual slow beginning to fill the frame. He's an honest stayer. Winning Steps whacked on onepaced after a handy run. He was on the quick back and is better suited over the 1,800m. Special Hedge weakened over the last 150m after working too hard in front leading from the widest draw. He ran himself into the ground. Firming favourite Little Fairy came up flat when push came to shove after finding a spot in the box seat. He was likely tired after chasing a genuine pace. Darci Joy had an excuse after pressing forward three deep to track the leader 1,500m out.
