Cheryl Cole is Only Human but with Stars' status [Review]
Cheryl Cole, Cheryl Tweedy, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini or just plain Cheryl, the former Girls Aloud singer has built a successful solo career in recent years, including five number one singles, a record for a British female artist.
But it seems that Cheryl's personal life all too often distracts from her music, whether that be her divorce from Ashley Cole, her friendship with Simon Cowell, or her brief stint as a judge on American Idol.
So on her fourth album, Only Human, it's nice to see Cheryl fighting back against her critics with a collection of feisty pop songs.
Lead single Crazy Stupid Love includes saxophone solos and an appearance from rapper Tinie Tempah, and displays Cheryl at her catchy best. "I don't know how you do it me," she sings.
But the highlight is Stars, an up-tempo dance-pop anthem, driven by a thumping beat that will make you want to get up and dance as Cheryl sings defiantly: "Just forget who you are / We can all be stars."
This is Cheryl's best album yet, and it might just be the one which switches attention away from her personal life and onto her music.
