The new anime Sengoku Otome - Momoiro Paradox (Battle Girls: Time Paradox) is based on a 2008 pachinko game by Heiwa called Sengoku Otome. It focuses on Japan's Sengoku Jidai period (1467-1573), known as the Era of Warring States, in a world populated only by women.

The plot revolves around Yoshino Hide, a students whose only interests are reading blogs, surfing the Net and texting her friends. She is doing badly in school and is facing the prospect of summer classes because of her failing grades.

To avoid that, she goes to a temple where prayers are known to be answered. Just as she is about to start praying, Yoshino sees flashing blue lights coming from within the temple.

As she clumsily barges in, she is teleported to a skewed version of the Sengoko Jidai period. There she meets the legendary Japanese "warlord" Nobunaga Oda, who takes her under her wing. She sends her on a mission to find the missing parts of the Crimson Armour, which legend says will grant its wearer the power to rule the world.

A manga adaptation called Hyakka Ryoran Sengoku Otome was launched in ASCII Media Work's Dengeki Daioh anthology magazine in 2009.

Anime protagonists tend to be one-dimensional characters, which is fine. But Yoshino outdoes them all. She is simple-minded and annoying. Avoid this anime at all cost!
